The original Series 7 Chair is the Series 7 Armchair. It was launched in 1955 at the H55 international design exhibition in Sweden as Arne Jacobsen's reply to the criticism he received for the Ant chair. The Series 7 Armchair provided a striking response with perfectly proportioned armrests that follow the contours of the curved backrest while extending the smooth lines of the rear legs to create a perfectly balanced and supremely comfortable design.
